The Hidden Meaning Behind A Tree With A Painted White Circle

If you have strolled around your local park or nature reserve lately, then you may have noticed unusual painted markings on them, including white-painted circles.
As it turns out, these symbols are meant to show that the tree houses an endangered species. Commonly, the white circle designation is used for red-cockaded woodpeckers.
Such markings are extremely important for protecting both the tree and the animal, as the removal of these species’ host trees can lead to their extinction.
