The Kitchen Ingredient That'll Leave Your Oven Dazzling Clean
By SANDY BAKER
Cleaning the oven can be tough with all the grease and grime caked on its door, gaskets, grooves, and surface. Luckily, all you need is lime and a microfiber cloth to keep it clean.
Lime is a natural solution that will clean the oven without irritating your respiratory system or having to put powerful chemicals on a surface that helps you prepare food.
The citric fruit reduces bacteria and fungus while its acid breaks down grease buildup. Meanwhile, the microfiber cloth will help soak the liquid, allowing for a better scrubbing.
Begin by squeezing one or more limes into a strainer to remove the seeds and the pulp. Then, pour it into a spray bottle and add a cup of water for each lime added.
You can amp up this recipe by adding white vinegar in the same ratio as the water and ½ a cup of baking soda, which will help break down the grime buildup even more efficiently.
Spray the solution directly on the grime and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it with a clean microfiber cloth. Flip it over to a clean side to shine the surface.
