Thanks to their durability and visual appeal, granite countertops are a popular choice among homeowners. However, their highly porous nature makes them susceptible to staining.
Exposure to high temperatures can further increase this risk. Thus, it is crucial to prevent cooking oil or any other oils from coming into direct contact with granite surfaces.
When oil spills or splashes on granite, it can seep into the countertop and create stubborn stains that are difficult to remove and may become permanent if not promptly addressed.
While annual sealing can offer some level of protection, it does not completely eliminate the risk. Consequently, it is important to store oils away from granite countertops.
