The Low-Cost IKEA Product That Saves Major Space In Your Closet
By CLAIRE DANGALAN
Most closets come with a fixed number of hanging rods and shelves, so you can quickly run out of space. Thankfully, there's an affordable solution: the IKEA Mulig clothes bar.
Priced at $4.99, IKEA’s Mulig is a sleek and versatile bar that can be mounted on any available wall space (in or out of your closet), instantly doubling your hanging space.
The bar is adjustable, with a minimum width of 23⅝ inches and a maximum width of 35⅜ inches. It can hold 33 pounds, and you can install as many bars as required.
Unbox the Mulig clothes bar and assemble the given components per the user manual. Use a stud finder to locate the studs on the wall, and mark the placement of the bar on the wall.
Drill pilot holes into the studs and attach the bar securely with specific fasteners for your type of walls. Either hang the bar along the wall or from the ceiling.
Unlike other bars, the Mulig can be installed anywhere you desire. You can also adjust it to the length you want and hang clothes on the bar's curved sides as well as on the front.
