Electric stovetops and ovens are major contributors to your energy bill — using them for an hour a day costs an estimated $132 per year, compared with $90 for gas appliances.
A dishwasher is one of the most expensive appliances to run, and depending on how often you use it and how energy-efficient it is, it can cost you $55 to $104 annually.
Depending on its setting, location, and how often you open it, the annual cost to run a primary refrigerator is $87, $66 for a secondary one, and $74 for a freezer.
A single-cup coffeemaker used for 10 minutes a day costs $24 a year, while a drip coffeemaker producing up to 12 cups costs $47.50 annually when used for one hour a day.
These are very economical, costing about $18 annually. Obviously, the more it’s used, the higher the bill, but they’re much cheaper than standard gas or electric ovens.
