The Old-School Soap That's Great At Removing Tough Grease Stains
By JACQUELINE DELIBES
Whether from cooking or working on a car, grease splatters can be tough to remove. However, Murphy’s Oil Soap, a wood cleaner, can get these stubborn stains out of your clothes.
Murphy’s, a non-toxic cleaner made with biodegradable ingredients, has been around for over 100 years and is a great alternative to modern, harmful chemicals like chlorine bleach.
Test a hidden part of the fabric to ensure your clothing tolerates the cleaner. Then, lay your garment on a flat surface and pour out a little Murphy’s right onto the grease stain.
Scrub the cleaner into the area for no more than one minute. Let it sit for about 30 minutes, then run it through a wash cycle, repeating as necessary to remove any smell.
