The One Spot To Check If Your Washing Machine Is Shaking Like Crazy
By RHIANNON FAITH IRELAND
You may regularly clear out the tumble dryer filter, but your washer has a filter too, and a build-up of debris within it could be why it's suddenly shaking around a lot.
In addition to trapping lint and debris, your washer filter may also collect loose metal items like coins and bobby pins, which may cause it to rattle even during a light load.
Most filters are located in the front panel of the washer. Carefully drain it, and use a vacuum cleaner to remove any loose items in the filter, or simply scoop them out.
Once cleared, run a regular wash cycle to see if the shaking has been resolved. However, if the problem persists, you may need to do a more thorough cleaning job.
Use a damp cloth or an old toothbrush to effectively clean the filter. Alternatively, you can soak the filter in hot water with a teaspoon of laundry detergent for 10 minutes.
