The Paint Hack Every Renter Will Want To Know

Since landlords often ask tenants to restore the paint to its original color upon moving out, they can mark the original hue on a household item that remains fixed: a light switch.
A switch plate is usually removed while painting a wall, so you can easily write the paint color on a small piece of painter's tape and stick it to the inside of the light switch.
You can even ask the landlord for the precise shade of the wall color to ensure no variations.
This note will remain on the inner side of the plate for years to come.
