The Pantry Ingredient That Doubles As An Effective Garden Fertilizer
By MICHAEL ALEXANDER UCCELLO
Soybeans contain healthy essentials like proteins, vitamins, enzymes, and minerals, which are beneficial for both humans and plants. You can even use soybean water as a fertilizer.
Maintaining a ratio of one part soybeans to every 10 parts water, soak them for 24 hours. Then, fish out the beans before watering your plants with the soy-enriched water.
The soaking process helps break down and extract the nourishing elements from the soybeans, helping the plants access nutrients like nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus.
Nitrogen is essential for chlorophyll production and plant growth. The enriched water can also enhance soil structure, aid in photosynthesis, and improve nutrient availability.
Note that soybean-enriched water is not a replacement for fertilizers or watering. It is important to follow proper plant care instructions and feed your plants a balanced diet.
