The Pencil Hack You Never Knew You Needed For Your Tape Measure
By RON BAKER
This pencil hack that @wesandalisontips shared on Instagram shows you how to use the belt clip on some tape measures so the tape and pencil work as a unit to mark measurements.
Just secure your pencil in the belt clip aligned with the point where the tape enters the casing, then press the pencil down to mark as the tape reaches the desired measurements.
This hack is useful when you're making a lot of rough measurements along a straight line, especially when you need to measure one-handed because you’re using the other hand.
However, this trick isn’t suitable if you need accurate measurements, as it can compound initial errors. It also isn't much faster than measuring and marking using both hands.
