The Popular Garden Feature Snakes Are Attracted To & Why
By MARCO ROSSI
Finding snakes slithering around in your backyard can be very unsettling. Luckily, removing features that attract them, like your birdbath, can discourage them from returning.
There are many reasons snakes favor birdbaths. Not only do they need to drink water to survive, but the liquid also helps them regulate their body temperature and shed their skin.
Since snakes are carnivorous, they are also drawn to birdbaths as a food source and will happily feast on the birds and other animals, such as insects and frogs, that visit them.
