The Popular Household Essential That'll Have White Sneakers Looking New
By EZEKIEL MAINA
Instead of using abrasive detergents like bleach that could potentially ruin your sneakers, you can clean your white shoes and make them like new with hydrogen peroxide.
Typical household hydrogen peroxide is concentrated at 3% and could irritate the skin, so be sure to wrap up any open wounds to prevent scarring from exposure to the peroxide.
Start by untangling the laces, extracting the insoles, and brushing off any loose dust or dirt. Combine hydrogen peroxide with a double helping of baking soda until it's a paste.
Spread the mixture on the shoe with a toothbrush, let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse. You can also leave it under the sun for two hours and brush it off when the solution dries.
