The Popular Kitchen Trend Fixer To Fabulous’ Jenny Marrs Is Loving
By DANIELA KLEIN
While Dave and Jenny Marrs, the stars of HGTV’s “Fixer to Fabulous,” usually recommend avoiding trends and sticking to classic styles, they have embraced one trend: wood fluting.
In Season 5, Episode 7, the power couple transformed a dated kitchen into an elegant space. The original island featured fluted wood, and Jenny chose to reintroduce this detail.
She added fluted accents to the island's curved corners for texture and interest. The fluting also mirrored the countertop's curved corners, seamlessly tying the look together.
Fluting dates back to ancient Greek architecture, and in contemporary settings, it adds rhythm, depth, and texture, elevating the flat look of a kitchen with decorative detail.
Try DIY methods like pole wrap or half-round molding to add fluting to your kitchen island. Use glue and a nail gun, wrap the front, then paint the wood in your chosen shade.
