The Pros And Cons Of Pruning Early Flower Buds Off Pepper Plants
By KALEIGH BRILLON
Less-than-ideal growing conditions or changes that can throw off a pepper plant's circadian clock, such as temperature changes or longer days, can cause it to flower prematurely.
Many gardeners believe that pruning early pepper flowers can encourage the plant to focus on growth rather than fruit production, potentially leading to a greater yield later on.
However, if a pepper plant is growing in optimal conditions with proper nutrients, sunlight, and water, pinching early flower buds might not offer significant benefits.
Interestingly, while much of the evidence supporting this method is anecdotal, available scientific research doesn't conclusively back up the claims.
