The Simple Trick That
Can Help
Speed Up Your Dishwasher's Cycle
By D.G. SCIORTINO
Most dishwasher cycles require 135 degrees F to wash dishes, which takes about two minutes per degree. Luckily, running hot water from your kitchen sink can help speed things up.
Water in the pipes is usually about 55 degrees F and can drop to 45 degrees F
in the winter. Your washing cycle could take up to 160 more minutes if you don't preheat the water.
Running hot water in your kitchen sink for two or three minutes can flush all the cold water out of your pipes, allowing hot water to flow to your machine and reducing wash time.
