The Sweet, Natural Ingredient That'll Help Your Garden Thrive
By WILL FORD
Rich in natural sugars, amino acids, and enzymes, honey helps plants thrive by promoting beneficial microbial activity in the soil, leading to better nutrient absorption by plants.
Honey functions as a natural fertilizer that encourages robust root development and plant immunity, while its antimicrobial properties fortify soil health against pathogens.
To create a honey-infused solution, start by selecting raw, unprocessed honey, preferably organic, as it's rich in nutrients and beneficial properties.
Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey with 1 gallon of boiling water and stir well. The boiling water makes certain that you don't introduce harmful microbes to the soil.
Let the solution cool to room temperature so it doesn't cause stress to the plants. Transfer it to a watering can or a sprayer for easy and uniform distribution across the garden.
Apply the honey solution to the soil around the base of the plants, ensuring even coverage of the root zone. Repeat the process every two to four weeks for best results.
