The Unexpected Product That Will Do Wonders For Your Oven's Exterior
By KYLE SCHURMAN
Although most people focus on the interior of the oven when cleaning, the exterior is just as important. Luckily, WD-40 can be used to break down greasy stains on your glass door.
First, make sure your appliance is cool. If you notice any food spills or greasy leaks running down the side of the appliance, you can slide it away from the wall.
Tip the oven slightly and place cardboard under the front legs to slide it without scratching the floor. Unplug the appliance and turn off the gas line if you have a gas stove.
Wipe away any crumbs or food residue, then spray the WD-40 onto the metal exterior of the oven and let it sit for two minutes. Use a heavy-duty cloth to wipe down the area.
If you still have greasy spots, repeat the process. Remember that WD-40 is a pressurized solvent inside the can that could burst if exposed to a heat source.
Be sure also to avoid directly breathing the vapors or any mist that the spray creates, as this could be a health hazard. If you accidentally ingest WD-40, call a poison center.
