The Unexpected Way Eggs Can Bring Old Leather Back To Life
By MACY SEARS
When it comes to cleaning and restoring tired leather goods, all you need are two things: an egg, which has been cracked into a separate bowl, and a soft cleaning cloth.
Carefully remove the yolk, and dip the cloth into the egg whites. Gently yet firmly rub the cloth and egg whites in a circular motion across the leather item’s entire surface.
Do this until the sticky egg film disappears, and notice that the protein-rich albumen, which removes dirt and grime, leaves behind a high-gloss shine.
The natural coating of the egg whites prevents potential damage and protects your leather goods against any changes in temperature.
