This DIY Citronella Spray Can Solve Your Spider Problem For Good
By EZEKIEL MAINA
Essential oils, including citronella, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree, emit pungent smells that spiders can't stand, making them excellent natural repellents.
For a DIY solution, mix 10 drops of an essential oil, such as citronella, with water in a spray bottle, and add a dispersant, like solubol, to enhance the efficacy of the mixture.
Give it a good shake and spray in spider-prone areas. If DIY isn't your style, undiluted essential oil can be sprinkled directly into spider hideouts or applied to cotton balls.
Another handy option is a mixture of vinegar and water with a few drops of citronella oil. However, if you have cats, exercise caution, as they might react negatively
to the oils.
People with allergies to these oils should be cautious and consider other repellent methods. Also, keep essential oil mixtures away from open fire, as they are flammable.
