This Essential Tool Is The Key To Easily Aerating Your Lawn
By Veronica Sparks
While you can rent or buy equipment to make aerating your yard much easier, it can be expensive. Luckily, a hand-held drill can be the perfect solution for your struggling lawn.
If your yard is small or you have just a few patchy areas, you can use the tool to drill a hole in the ground. Before you begin, make sure soil compaction is the issue.
You can test this with a long, pointed object to determine if the soil is loose. If it’s not, the soil is compacted, and using the drill is an appropriate solution.
Make sure to drill 2 to 4 inches down so that water and nutrients can get deep enough into the soil. Make additional holes that are roughly 3 to 6 inches apart.
