This Household Essential Will Change The Way You Remove Grease Stains
By WILL FORD
Grease stains are notoriously hard to remove as oil can deeply penetrate fabric. Laundering the item is insufficient, and heat from washing can permanently set the stain instead.
You can use baby powder as an easy grease-fighting solution. Baby powder is a talc or cornstarch-based product used for its absorbent properties that can lift grease from fabrics.
Unlike chemical stain removers that may cause discoloration or damage, baby powder is a natural alternative that’s gentle yet potent and suitable for various materials.
First, gently blot the grease stain with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Next, sprinkle baby powder over the stain and leave it for at least 30 minutes to draw out the oil.
Remove the baby powder with a soft brush, then launder the item using cold water. The stain will have significantly diminished or be gone entirely.
