This Unexpected Ingredient Can Tackle The Most Stubborn Oven Messes
By RIA BHAGWAT
Ovens harbor the brunt of grime, burns, and stains, and cleaning them can sometimes feel impossible. Many don’t realize a vegetable can clean a dirty oven.
Onions are rich with antioxidants, acidity, and antibacterial properties that act as natural disinfectants against stubborn and textured stains.
While it doesn't matter the size or color, a larger onion can cover more surface area, making the cleaning process quicker and more efficient.
Cut the onion and use one half at a time. Scrub while squeezing out any excess juice; if the oven is warm, use a grilling fork to move the onion around while adding pressure.
You may want to wipe down the inside of your oven with a clean, damp cloth once you're done, though not completely necessary, as onions prevent foul odors and get rid of rust.
