This Unique Kitchen Countertop Is The Most Expensive You Can Buy
By JANELLE WARD
Though quartz and marble can be costly, a semi-precious, iridescent stone called labradorite might be the most expensive — and strongest — countertop you can buy.
Labradorite is a type of volcanic rock that radiates dark red, blue, and green hues when light falls on its surface, and it will set you back between $200 and $300 per square foot.
Although it's extracted in many parts of the world, including the United States, it’s much rarer than quartz, marble, or granite, which is why it’s so much more pricey.
This durable and low-maintenance stone’s unique beauty certainly commands attention. Just remember never to leave a hot pan on the surface, or clean it with anything acidic.
