Tie An Orange Ribbon Around Your Trees & Watch What Happens
By DANIELLE RAMOS-SULLIVAN
Hummingbirds significantly enhance a garden's vitality through pollination. A simple yet effective way to attract them to your yard is by tying orange ribbons around your trees.
Unlike humans, these tiny birds can perceive ultraviolet light. This ability makes them gravitate toward the brightest-colored flowers, which often contain the most nectar.
To make the most of this, you can cut orange surveyor's tape to a length that fits around your tree, and then tie it in place. Besides orange, hummers are also fond of red.
Therefore, adding red or orange ribbons near feeders, flowers, porches, planters, and fences can further encourage these delightful birds to visit your garden.
