Transform A Basic IKEA Side Table With This
Easy Hack
By MASIE O'TOOLE
By using an IKEA hack shared by TikTok user @lesslikelytodrinkfriend, you can have a custom-looking, functional side table that costs less than a similar option from another store.
Before you begin, you will need to pick up just a few materials: two LACK side tables — one of IKEA's least expensive furniture pieces — and some wood glue, like Gorilla Wood Glue.
@lesslikelytodrinkfriend began with an assembled LACK side table, so put together one side table before you start gluing. Next, open the other side table and look at the materials.
You'll have the tabletop and four legs, but you’ll only need two legs. Flip the assembled side table upside down, then glue the finished side of the other tabletop onto the legs.
Take two of the legs and glue them horizontally on the bottom to create new, shorter legs, and allow at least 24 hours for the table to completely dry to ensure it’s ready for use.
You can also incorporate a small storage cube on the second tabletop to provide some additional storage space, especially if you plan to use it as a nightstand.
