Trellis Gardening Is Easy With This Hack From Your Wardrobe
By A. R. HOPKINS
In a creative fusion of gardening and wardrobe optimization, an unexpected item from your closet emerges as an innovative solution for supporting climbing plants: pantyhose.
This approach involves cutting the pantyhose into small, single-ply strips about 3 to 5 inches long and using them to gently secure the plants’ stems to a trellis.
The soft, flexible material of pantyhose effectively mitigates the risk of damaging the plants, an issue commonly associated with more rigid ties like metal or hard plastic.
In the absence of pantyhose, other stretchy fabrics such as old dress socks, leggings, T-shirts, and fabric headbands serve just as well for this gardening purpose.
