Nail Polish Remover
If you're out of nail polish remover, a simple toothpaste scrub can do the trick. Rub toothpaste over your nails, then wipe the polish off with a cloth.
Add baking soda for extra abrasion, or soak your polished nails in a toothpaste, lemon juice, and water mixture before scrubbing the nail polish off.
Brighten Shoes
Toothpaste can remove scuff marks on rubber sneakers. Add toothpaste to a cleaning toothbrush, and scrub the rubber parts of tennis and athletic shoes.
After you're done scrubbing, let your shoes sit for a few hours, then wipe them clean with a moist towel to brighten them.
Polish Jewelry
Silver benefits from a toothpaste scrubbing. With a cleaning toothbrush, scrub white toothpaste (not gel) on the silver to remove the tarnish, then rinse and buff.
Toothpaste is a great jewelry cleaner, but you shouldn't use it on certain metals and stones, including pearl, opal, gold, and soft gemstones.
Clean An Iron
Toothpaste will work wonders on the soleplate of an iron. Use a teeth-whitening toothpaste that isn't a gel, which you can apply directly to the soleplate.
Wet a cleaning toothbrush and scrub the soleplate in circular motions. Rinse the iron bottom without submerging it in water, and when you've finished, dry it.
Bathroom Sink
Toothpaste can clean the bathroom sink in a snap. Just squeeze some into the basin, wet a sponge, scrub the interior of the sink, and rinse once the job is done.
Toothpaste will remove old smells coming from the drain as well. You can also clean chrome fixtures by rubbing toothpaste on them in small, circular motions, then buff-drying them.
