Turn Milk Jugs Into A Garden Essential With This Trick
By NAOMI MEZA
Milk jugs can be upcycled in useful ways — for example, turn them into DIY watering cans that will allow you to have better control over how much water you give your houseplants.
A half-gallon jug should be enough to water your smaller plants, while a gallon jug may be better for larger ones. First, clean it out with soap and water and rinse it thoroughly.
Remove the cap and make large holes in it with a thick nail and hammer to allow a heavier stream of water through or make smaller holes with needles or pins for a finer water flow.
Then, fill your jug with water, screw the lid back on, and admire your new makeshift watering can with a handle for easy carrying. Decorate it with markers or paint if you prefer.
