Turns Out Cleaning Our Floors With Alka-Seltzer Really Works

Made with sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and aspirin, Alka-Seltzer is a popular item to treat heartburn and indigestion. However, they can also be used as a cleaning agent.
Madisen Swenson of House Digest decided to test our tip at home, using the effervescent Alka-Seltzer tablets in her mop water to see if it would get her floors sparkling clean.
Swenson filled a canister about ¾ before adding Alka-Seltzer. She mixed the tablets with room temperature water as hot water can cause excess foaming.
Typically, Swenson would mop the floor twice, but the Alka-Seltzer cleaned the floors better. A second wasn't needed after a test swipe with a cloth after the first pass.
