Ty Pennington's Magnetic Tile Tip Is Grout-Free
By D.G. SCIORTINO
Ty Pennington, the former star of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," has endorsed the use of magnetic tile for home renovation, emphasizing its
grout-free installation.
"The cool thing is you don't have to have it sealed or grouted," Pennington said in Season 1, Episode 6 of his HGTV series "TY Breaker," titled "A New Level
to Entertain."
Magnetic tile installation involves laying down a base mat or paint layer containing iron particles, with the tile placed on top to create a strong bond
with the underlayment.
This bond eliminates the need for grout or sealants made with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making the installation process quicker and ensuring that the tiles are waterproof.
