Unsellable Houses Shows How To Incorporate Dark Wood Into Your Home
By NINA ROGOFF
Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis from HGTV’s “Unsellable Houses” are known for incredible home transformations, so they know what will attract the most attention. The pair renovated an outdated 1970s home, and instead of using light colors to make the home look contemporary, they opted for deeper wood tones to add depth.
To keep the bathroom feeling bright, Davis and Lamb painted the walls neutral while adding dark wood cabinets, and they suggest using dark frames around mirrors or pictures. They also painted the home’s exterior trim a dark grey-brown to match the interior décor.
Lamb also added square hanging planters at different heights to draw attention away from the sloped ceiling and create a sense of depth. Plants not only add a pop of color and contrast but are also an affordable way to decorate and accent the dark features in a home.
