Upgrade Your Door With This Clever Leftover Planter Stake Hack
By RON BAKER
Instagram creator Sarah Teresinski used leftover wooden planter stakes as mock door hinges to simulate the rustic, heavy-duty strap or T-hinges found on some gates and barn doors.
Painted with metallic hammered gold, the markers look convincing from afar, and the overall effect is fun, creating a perfect entrance into her whimsical sitting room.
Teresinski explains in her post that the idea came from a dresser she decorated on the "Today" show, where she used the stakes to create the effect of an antique steamer trunk.
You can use these stakes in other fun ways too, like making your breadbox look like a little steamer trunk, or sticking some on your dishwasher to mimic an old-fashioned model.
