Use One Fiery Spice To Keep Stray Cats Out Of Your Garden
By ROBYN HUNT
Powdered cayenne pepper works to repel frisky garden felines because of its strong and pungent aroma, which can confuse a cat’s sense of smell.
To use this simple yet effective cat repellent, identify the areas of your garden that they seem to frequent the most, then liberally sprinkle the cayenne in those spots.
A cat’s strong sense of smell will automatically pick up the cayenne, making it turn the other way to find somewhere else to do its business.
Cayenne can also be used to deter critters like deer, rabbits, and squirrels, and acts as a mild natural pesticide that deters bugs that can harm your tomato and zucchini plants.
As a natural ingredient, cayenne won’t harm the soil or plants. Reapply it after it rains or when you water your plants since water can dull the scent and make it less effective.
