Use This Clever Painting Hack To Save Old Paint For Tiny Touchups
By JACQUELINE DELIBES
If spots in your home need paint touch-ups, but your leftover latex paint has become dry and globby, don't fret. Dried-up latex paint is easy to revive with water.
When water-based latex paint sits for too long, gravity separates the water from the solids. If the can isn't airtight, the water evaporates over time and dries the paint out.
To revive the paint, grab a thick paint stick for stirring the paint, some room-temperature water, and a measuring cup. Step outdoors and wear a mask as a screen from paint fumes.
Add half a cup of water per gallon of paint, adding very little at a time. Continue stirring in circles up and down until it is the consistency of heavy cream.
