Use This Clever Wood Stain Hack To Fill Gaps In Your Old Hardwood Flooring
By ROSE OKEKE
Since hardwood floors are organic, they’re prone to physical changes depending on their environment and age. This can often cause gaps to arise in your flooring.
Luckily, a TikTok DIY from hardwood floor company Weles Inc. will have your panels looking as good as new. All you need is wood filler, a sander, masking tape, and some wood stain.
Begin by taping the area as close to the gap as possible. Next, create a filler paste by adding water or stirring it before spreading it into the gap with a trowel.
Let it sit there for about 15 minutes to harden, then remove the tape and stick another round along the edges of the gap. Sand the filling down to floor level and apply wood stain.
