Use This Secret Ingredient For Sparkling Stainless Steel Appliances
By JACQUELINE DELIBES
Cream of tartar is a white powder made from tartaric acid. Though its main job is to stabilize certain ingredients while cooking, it also doubles as a cleaner for stainless steel.
Since some commercial stainless steel cleaners have noxious chemicals in them and smell horrendous, cream of tartar is a terrific natural alternative.
Just dampen your microfiber cloth, apply cream of tartar, and then scrub your stainless steel appliances, sinks, and pots. Filtered water is recommended to avoid lime spots.
Much like wood, stainless steel has a grain, so for best results, rub in the direction of the grain and not against it. Rinse with a separate cloth moistened with filtered water.
