Use Two Handy Kitchen Ingredients To Revive Rusted Baking Sheets
By RHIANNON FAITH IRELAND
When your favorite metal baking sheets have accumulated some rust, before you reach for the harsh cleaners, try lemon juice and salt to get them gleaming and ready to use again.
Apply a thin layer of salt onto your tray's rusty spots and pour a small amount of lemon juice over it. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes, then wipe it off with a damp cloth.
For stubborn rust stains, apply an equal amount of vinegar and lemon juice, but don't leave this mixture on your sheet for more than five minutes, as the acidity could damage it.
The acidity of lemon juice and vinegar and the abrasiveness of salt make a potent rust-elimination team. Just be sure to dry your baking sheet thoroughly before storing it again.
