Use WD-40 To Keep Your Pipes Moving This Winter
By MEREDITH EASTWOOD
During the winter months, the risk of pipes freezing increases. This can disrupt daily routines, incur financial burdens, and even lead to potential structural damage to homes.
To prevent this predicament, simply apply a thin layer of WD-40 to the exterior of your exposed pipes before the onset of cold weather.
This treatment will create a protective barrier, preventing moisture from accumulating on the surface of the pipes and substantially reducing the likelihood of freezing.
WD-40 can also help thaw frozen outdoor faucet locks, which can facilitate the drainage of water from exterior pipes and reduce the risk of freezing during cold months.
