The mourning dove is adored for its association with love and unity. If you are looking to attract mourning doves, it’s important to choose the right feeder and food.
Mourning doves are most likely to land on large, open-platform feeders. A large, open feeder will also allow more mourning doves to visit a single feeder at once.
Mourning doves love pre-shelled sunflower seeds, cracked corn, grains, and ragweed. A feed that includes millet, wheat, and milo is also great.
Mourning doves also like peanuts. However, because their beaks aren't specialized to crack shells, it’s best to give them pre-shelled peanuts.
