Ways To Use Lemon & Hydrogen Peroxide For A Cleaner Home
By LILLY PALTSEV
Hydrogen peroxide is well-known for its antibacterial, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. By combining it with lemon, you can create a powerful, safe, and effective cleaner.
Mix 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 2 cups of water, and 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice. Then, pour the solution into a dark-colored spray bottle to prolong the peroxide’s life.
Spritz surfaces directly or spray the solution onto a clean rag or microfiber cloth. Allow the solution to absorb for a few minutes before letting it air dry or wiping it away.
When cleaning, be sure to wear gloves and long sleeves to avoid coming into contact with the hydrogen peroxide. You should also be mindful of accidentally ingesting or inhaling it.
You should also spot test items before using the solution on them. Hydrogen peroxide can sometimes cause discoloration,
and lemon juice can
damage marble or
brass-plated hardware.
