What To Consider Before Cleaning Your Black Sink
By JACQUELINE DELIBES
A black sink can offer a modern, sleek alternative to a conventional silver or white sink, but you need to use the right tools to clean it to prevent scratching or discoloration.
Regardless of the material your black sink is built from, it is essential to use a microfiber or other super soft cloth, warm water, and liquid soap during the cleaning process.
Wash your sink, and in the case of stainless steel, rub in the direction of the grain, then rinse with clean water and dry. Use baking soda and water to lift off stains and spots.
If your sink is not made from stainless steel, skip the baking soda. For sinks of all materials, allow a vinegar and water mixture to sit for five minutes before rinsing and drying.
To maintain your sink’s sheen, occasionally apply a light coating of vegetable oil after cleaning. Leave it for five minutes before removing any excess oil with a clean cloth.
