What To Consider Before Hanging A Chandelier In Your Bedroom
By ALEXANDRIA TAYLOR
Chandeliers can bring a lot to the design, even in bedrooms, but you need to consider the size of the chandelier, the height of your ceiling, and lighting requirements.
Since chandeliers hang down, you'll typically
want at least 9 feet high ceilings so you don't hit your head on the light fixture or have it bump into other furniture pieces.
Shorter ceilings may benefit from miniature chandeliers, which can create a similar look with less length. However, avoid hanging the chandelier
too close to the ceiling.
Do consider the scale of the chandelier in the room, too, as smaller bedrooms may feel overwhelmed by a large light fixture.
It helps if the chandelier's diameter is about the length plus the width of a room but in inches. For instance, a 10-by-10-foot room calls for a chandelier with a 20-inch diameter.
