Why A Real Estate Expert Recommends Buying A Condo Over
A House
By SANDY BAKER
Jon Sanborn, co-founder of Brotherly Love Real Estate, advocates for buying a condominium over a single-family home, especially in urban areas or places with high property values.
Condos are generally more affordable, with a median price of $275,000 in 2021 compared to $315,000 for single-family houses, making the step from renting to owning more attainable.
Additionally, owning a condo means less responsibility for maintenance. Homeowners are only accountable for their private units, while the condo association manages common areas.
Condos also provide amenities that may be unaffordable for single-family homebuyers, such as swimming pools, fitness centers, and recreational rooms, making them a better choice.
