Why It’s So Hard To Get Rid Of Zoysia Grass
By SANDY BAKER
Zoysia grass is a good choice for high-traffic areas because of its exceptional durability; however, replacing this resilient grass can prove challenging.
While you can eliminate it with a chemical-based product, the only other way to get rid of zoysia grass is to remove the top layer of soil with the grass growing into it.
This type of grass is dominant, meaning it’s hard to kill, especially since it is a fast-growing, drought-resistant variety. Unfortunately, it can also be hard to contain.
Although it prefers the sun, zoysia grass will still grow in the shade and do well even when there's not much rain, often spreading quickly and easily outside your desired area.
