Why You Should Start Putting Jars
Of Vinegar Around Your House

Although some can be adorable, most critters are detrimental to yards and gardens. White vinegar’s pungent smell is a cheap way to keep your property clear of unwanted visitors.
While some recommend placing bowls filled with vinegar around the edge of your yard, you can buy a few Dollar Tree glass jars instead if you don’t want to use your good dishware.
Where you place the jars will depend on which critters you’re trying to deter. Look for signs of entry into your property, or target areas that animals tend to gravitate toward.
For example, snakes love watery areas, so you should place the jars near any water features. Simply leave the top off the jar so the animals can smell the vinegar without issue.
A major benefit of this hack is its safety — for both you and the animals. It does not rely on any toxic chemicals that could harm the critters or your small children and pets.
