Why You Should Think Twice Before Running A Dishwasher That Isn't Full
By SASKIA AINSWORTH
Although dishwashers are common in houses, people make many mistakes when using them, such as regularly running their appliance when it’s half full.
This mistake could lead to you needing to replace your washer sooner than those who wait to run it when it’s full, as it will wear out your appliance faster.
Alongside the possibility of having to buy a new washer, you may also see a rise in your utility bill due to the amount of water and electricity the appliance uses.
"Waiting for fuller loads can reduce the number of cycles [...], which optimizes water usage and likely leads to a longer overall lifespan," says Mark Horton, manager at Maytag.
