Adding a small amount of salt to your washing machine load will keep your fabrics vibrant, while also preventing the colors in new fabrics from bleeding out.
TikTok creator @mama_mila_ demonstrates how to complete this hack. She starts by turning her pink bedding inside out, and then loads it into the washing machine.
Next, she adds ¼ cup of table salt to the load before pouring liquid detergent into its respective compartment. She also uses ½ cup of white vinegar to keep dye from washing out.
By the end of the wash cycle, her bedding looks as vibrant as it was before it was washed. She then notes that, for best results, people should use cold water only for the cycle.
