You Shouldn't Use Magic Eraser To Clean This Kitchen Finish
By TRICIA GOSS
Stainless steel surfaces are easily damaged and dulled when they aren’t properly cared for, which is why you should never use a magic eraser to clean them.
Although magic erasers are known for their versatility in removing tough stains, their mildly abrasive surface is made up of microscopic crystals that create friction.
These microabrasions result in tiny scratches on stainless steel, which over time cause the finish to lose its shine and luster.
Depending on how deep these scratches are, however, you might be able to repair the finish by buffing them out using toothpaste and a microfiber, or other soft cloth.
