A New Tool For Realtors Might Transform How Your Home Is Sold

The real estate industry is starting to do business in a new way that could have a big impact on the way we sell our homes. According to RealTrends, realtors are exploring the benefits of using ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence computer program from OpenAI that was released in November 2022. ChatGPT is a language tool that can create a sophisticated response to a few user prompts, generating documentation that may save time and effort in many types of business. Unsurprisingly, it's also having an effect on real estate, as realtors are experimenting with ways that this new tool will assist them with their goal of selling homes.

Andres Asion, a real estate broker with the Miami Real Estate Group, has recently started using ChatGPT in his business (via CNN). He states, "I've been using it for more than a month, and I can't remember the last time something has wowed me this much." Asion has been using it to help him create legal documents before he submits them to his legal team. "I fine-tune all kinds of drafts with ChatGPT," he notes, explaining that "it gives you so many samples to pick and edit from."

Marketing tool

Another way that ChatGPT is helping realtors sell homes is by generating property descriptions, an integral part of the job but also a time-consuming task. Realtor JJ Johannes explained how writing a property description can take him up to an hour to complete, but ChatGPT created one for him in just a few seconds. "It saved me so much time," he said. "It's not perfect but it was a great starting point. My background is in technology and writing something eloquent takes time. This made it so much easier," per RealTrends.

Realtors may also start to depend on ChatGPT for their emails and marketing newsletters. Staying in touch with clients becomes easier when the relevant market research is already compiled and ready to send. ChatGPT can even contribute to a realtor's social media presence, by suggesting images to post on Instagram, or even by creating video scripts for YouTube. As this type of content continues to be generated behind the scenes, it's possible that homeowners will never know when they're interacting with an artificial assistant online. But many realtors may believe that delegating routine tasks will allow them to spend more time concentrating on the ultimate goal, which is to sell their client's home.
