Toilet Paper Storage Just Got So Much Easier With This Incredible IKEA TRONES Hack

If you have a relatively small bathroom, then you know that it can be difficult to find a place for everything that you might need on a daily basis. That includes essentials like an extra tube of toothpaste, a box of bandages, and rolls of toilet paper. When it comes to the latter, it's best to have it close by while still keeping it out of the way. How can you do that when you don't have a lot of space to work with? Well, you can just take advantage of a sneaky spot for bonus bathroom storage and create a somewhat unexpected toilet paper holder that will help to keep your bathroom tidy. All you need is a TRONES storage cabinet from IKEA and a little know-how.

First, if you're unfamiliar with the TRONES piece, then you should know that, along with holding other items that you might want to keep out of sight, it's primarily meant for shoes. That's why it has doors that open from the top and angled shelves inside that are just the right size for sneakers or sandals. Of course, you can use it to store whatever you want, like, yes, rolls of toilet paper. All you need to do is set it up in a certain place and in a specific way to make it work for this clever new purpose.

Add style to your TRONES toilet paper holder

If you're intrigued by the idea of turning an IKEA TRONES cabinet into a place to keep your extra rolls of toilet paper, then you will definitely be interested in the project that Rosa Crevecoeur took on and shared via her YouTube channel. Using a TRONES piece for this very purpose, she took a few extra steps that left her with a truly enviable result.

Starting out with a typical TRONES, she decided to use some extra plywood that she had leftover from a previous project to give it a little extra flair. After cutting the plywood into strips that were the same size as the side of the TRONES, she added a bit of stain. When that was dry, she simply used adhesive strips to permanently attach the plywood to the TRONES. After securing the piece to her wall, she also added a shelf on top that gave her even more room to add items she needed to store, as well as a couple of candles. Along with popping multiple rolls of toilet paper in the lower TRONES drawer, she also had enough room in the upper drawer for a few bottles.

If you want to do this in your own bathroom, all you need to do is choose a spot where the TRONES will fit nicely. Or, if you'd rather, you can keep it close to the toilet in case you need an extra roll in an emergency.
